Adding Swarm Global Leader Board to Android game

I decided to add global leader board to Wordest, the word sliding game I released a few weeks back.

I looked at two services, Scoreloop and Swarm Connect.  I decided to go with Swarm because of its document: short and precise.

To integrate Swarm to andEngine game, you only need to add a one-liner to onCreate, onPause, and onResume.  Another line will init the Swarm service.  In another word, for a total of 4 short lines, Swarm is integrated to you andEngine game.

Adding leader board is equally easy.  You will have to login to your account at Swarm website, and create the new leader board there.  You will get the leader board ID that you will have to use in your game source code.  Sending score to Swarm requires a few lines of code.

Swarm lets your users log in user their facebook account (or google, etc).  I'm a bit disappoint that, given it knows the facebook info of the user, it doesn't have service that make posting high score to user feed easier (if the player choose to do so, that is.  Nobody likes feed spams).

So far I like Swarm.  Give it a try if you want simple leader board supported in your game.

The Wordest Puzzle

The wordest Puzzle is a sister game of Word Drift.  It is based on a feedback of friends who has played Word Drift and resulted in a simpler yet more addictive game that can be played anytime.

The player can move the blocks of letter and form words. The longer words activate combo, bonus, cluster bombs, and plasma bombs.

How to play
- Move block of letters to empty space
- Form words that are at least 2 letters long
- Activate combo by submit 4-letter words (or the longer ones)
- Keep combo going by submit words with 3 or more letters (word with 4 letters or more reset combo timer)
- The longer the combo is activated, the more likely bomb and plasma blocks are dropped

Wordest is available at Google Play and at SlideMe Store
